Robert has had an adventurous life. As a naval aviator, Robert survived over 20 emergency landings; he developed and lead the US Navy’s first anti-terrorism team, participating in several classified operations. As commander of a Coast Guard rescue boat, Robert spent several years pulling people from the icy waters of the Pacific Ocean, including coordinating the rescue of 22 Boy Scouts when their tour boat capsized in heavy seas.
Following his military service, he battled international drug smugglers and domestic criminal gangs as an undercover agent with the Drug Enforcement Administration. Based on his military experience, he was asked to help develop a “high risk entry team” to be used when serving warrants on unusually dangerous locations and people.
Finally, as a firefighter, Robert ran into burning buildings and dangerous situations to rescue victims and protect property. He established the technical rescue team to address the safety issues of uncommon rescue challenges such as high elevation rope rescues, swift water rescues, and major disasters.
