Description:

This seminar will explore the various methods of implementing ALARP in different engineering contexts, and how to demonstrate that it has been implemented correctly. Ensuring and proving that ALARP has been implemented correctly is an ongoing challenge for engineers working in risk reduction, operations, safety and reliability. ALARP: Risk Management for Engineering offers a fantastic opportunity to hear directly from regulators including the Office of Nuclear Regulation (ONR), the Military Aviation Authority (MAA) the Environment Agency and the Office of Rail and Road (ORR). Furthermore, benefit from interactive masterclass workshops at our optional pre-seminar workshop day. Workshop topics include: In-depth exercise in cost benefit analysis as part of ALARP from the Ministry of Defence ALARP and coping with imperfect engineering from Sellafield Ltd Proving ALARP has been implemented correctly from a legal perspective from Gunnercooke LLP Integrating human factors into the application of ALARP from Rolls Royce Ltd Join the seminar to: Receive guidance on regulation and compliance from key regulating bodies across the various engineering industries Understand how ALARP is increasingly being applied at the development and construction stage of key projects Learn engagement strategies with stakeholders and senior management in the application of ALARP Hear panel discussions on learning from the ALARP framework across industries and environments To view the full speaker line-up and complete programmes for both the seminar and optional pre-seminar workshop, visit http://www.imeche.org/alarp
