Dr. Don Carmont is a training and development specialist, who brings to his consulting practice an expertise in “people skills,” gained from thirty years of leadership, teaching, training, writing and public speaking to hundreds of thousands of people in nearly thirty countries.
During his career, Don has served as CEO of a NASDAQ company, built a successful financial services company, headed a multi-million dollar non-profit organization, and served as a consultant and director on numerous international boards. He has hosted daily radio programs, and weekly television, as well as appearing on national television on more than one occasion.
With an MA in management, and a Ph.D. in communications, Don has designed, developed and delivered training programs, leadership development courses, and several thousand seminar sessions to international conferences, graduate school classrooms, and on-site for organizations in both public and private sector, from American Express to Zurich Life.
In the past twelve years, more than 10,000 organizations have had employees in attendance at seminars that Don has conducted throughout Canada, the US, the UK and Asia. In addition to the work through his private practice, he has conducted both public and on-site programs through the most respected seminar and training companies in the world including, The American Management Association, CareerTrack, SkillPath and Fred Pryor Seminars.
Don has worked extensively in the automotive manufacturing sector, primarily in the State of Michigan, and the Province of Ontario, including General Motors, and more than a dozen other companies. He has conducted training at Cami Automotive, Johnson Controls, Lear Corporation, Standard Tube, TRW Automotive, Husky Injection Moldings, Rockwell Industries, Siemens Electric, Upjohn Company, and numerous others.
His work in the manufacturing sector has spread beyond the automotive including Motorola, General Electric, AT&T, Kodak, International Paper, Medtronics, Advanced Cardiovascular, Monsanto, Moore Business Forms, PPG Canada, Rapistan Demag, Medtronics and Advanced Cardiovascular.
In the service industry, Don has worked with Union Gas, Embridge Consumers Gas, Vaughan Hydro, Andersen Consulting, United Technologies (Otis Elevator),and PriceWaterhouseCoopers.
Don has worked in the high-tech industry with IBM, Lucent Technologies, Celestica, National Computer Systems, Northern Computer Systems, Business Vision, SGI, PretzelLogic Software, Cyborg Systems, and several others.
In the transportation sector, he has worked with Boeing, GTAA, Freightliner Trucks, Canadian Pacific and others.
His work in the financial field includes American Express, Symcor, MCAP Financial, Prudential, Zurich Life, and CIBC.
He has worked with State and Federal Government agencies in the US, including US Postal Services, IRS, various state Departments, including, Transportation, Civil Service, Corrections, Health, Agriculture. He has worked with Revenue Canada, Ministry of Transport, Human Resources Development Canada, Ontario Ministry of Health, Alberta Economic Development and Tourism, among many others. He has conducted training on several Canadian Reserves and US Reservations with various first nations.
Don has conducted training for both US and Canadian Military, including US Navy, Air Force, Coast Guard, and Canadian Navy and Army personnel. He has worked in the Health Care Sector with numerous hospitals and medical centers in both Canada and the US.
