Biography:

Mr. Dave Lang has over 25 years experience in technical program management, counterespionage, antiterrorism, security, computer forensics, and law enforcement. He is currently the Electronic Forensics Program Manager for General Dynamics Advanced Information Systems. Prior to his current position he was the Managing Director of Digital Forensics and Director of External Training for Veridian. Mr. Lang has also worked as a Senior Computer Forensics Examiner for the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration and as a Special Agent for the United States Air Force. Mr. Lang is a Certified Protection Professional (CPP), registered private investigator, registered personal protection specialist, and both a certified private security services compliance agent and private security services general instructor in the Commonwealth of Virginia. He is certified in Homeland Security (Level III) by the American College of Forensic Examiners International and by the High Tech Crime Network as an Advanced Computer Crime Investigator and Advanced Computer Forensic Technician. He is also certified by (ISC)2 as a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), by the Information Systems Audit and Control Association as both a Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) and Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), by Cisco as a Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), by CompTIA as an A+ Certified Computer Technician, Network + Certified Network Technician and i-Net+ Certified Internetworking Technician. He is also certified by Langevin as a Training Manager/Director and by the U.S. National Security Agency in Infosec Assessment Methodology (IAM).
Mr. Lang served over 20 years in the United States Air Force retiring as the Special Agent in Charge at Schriever Air Force Base in Colorado. During his years as a Special Agent he worked in the specialty areas of antiterrorism, executive and force protection, counterintelligence and counterespionage. He worked in many locations throughout the world to include Saudi Arabia, UAE, Bahrain, Croatia, Bosnia, Korea, Germany, Russia and France. Mr. Lang is a combat veteran of Operation Desert Storm where he served as a tactical counterintelligence and force protection Special Agent. He also served as the senior USAF Special Agent in Zagreb, Croatia where he was in charge of the Joint Force Protection Team for the United Nations Implementation Forces (IFOR). His operations security penetration tests have included the successful penetration and mock destruction of some of the most secure military command facilities in the world. He also held diplomatic status as a US Arms Control Treaty Inspector and trained members of the US and Korean governments in operational security measures to be implemented during arms control treaty inspections.
Mr. Lang currently holds the rank of Colonel in the Civil Air Patrol (U.S. Air Force Auxiliary) and is past commander of Civil Air Patrol’s Wyoming Wing and a past member of the Civil Air Patrol National Board.

Mr. Lang holds credentials as a post secondary/adult vocational instructor in Criminal Justice, Law Enforcement and Computer Operations (State of Colorado) and served as an Associate Professorial Lecturer, Department of Forensic Sciences, The George Washington University, Washington, DC, from 2001 to 2003.
