Darwin Gillett is a business author, international speaker and consultant to management on strategies for creating sustainable competitive advantage.
He is author of NOBLE ENTERPRISE: The Commonsense Guide for Uplifting People and Profits (2008) and a contributing author of Create the BUSINESS BREAKTHROUGH You Want: Secrets and Strategies from the World’s Greatest Mentors (2004) as well as numerous other publications, including articles and booklets on corporate revitalization and leadership.
Darwin speaks widely in North America and Europe on leadership strategies for revitalizing companies and creating sustainable competitive advantage for knowledge-based and relationship-based companies through the principles of Noble Enterprise that tap the full range of human talent and spirit. He also designs and leads executive development seminars on Noble Leadership for business schools, associations and individual companies.
Darwin is founder and president of Noble Business Solutions, which helps clients large and small revitalize their companies' growth and profitability. As a business strategist, corporate futurist and leadership coach, Darwin consults with business owners and corporate executives and their teams on strategies for revitalizing companies and achieving sustainable breakthrough performance. Corporate clients have included large multi-national companies such as Pfizer, Union Camp (now part of International Paper), Readers Digest and Royal Bank of Canada. Privately-held clients include firms in high tech and professional services, including law, engineering, construction management, architecture, real estate and business & software.
Darwin started his career at Union Carbide, a chemicals & plastics manufacturer and related consumer products (Glad, Prestone anti-freeze, Eveready Batteries), where he led a team of internal and external consultants in developing a comprehensive strategic planning system - the 2nd in the country after GE's. Other positions include: director of corporate planning at Hubbell, Inc., a manufacturer of electrical and electronic wiring and lighting products; director of operations of a 200-person full-service law firm; and president & CEO of a small manufacturing firm in the beauty industry.
Dar holds a B.A. in economics from Yale University and an MBA from the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business. He serves on several business and non-profit boards, is on the faculty at Boston College's Carrol School of Management, and lectures and leads seminars for the Accelerated MBA program at Fordham Graduate School of Business and for Olin Business School's Executive Program at Washington University in St. Louis.
