Mary Kelly, PhD, Commander, U.S. Navy (ret) is CEO of Productive Leaders, a consulting firm specializing in professional speaking and business training for education, government and private business organizations.

Mary taught at Hawaii Pacific University for 15 years, taught at the US Naval Academy for four year, and at the Air Force Academy. She retired from active duty with specialties in logistics and human resources.
Mary has trained organizations, educational groups, military organizations, and Fortune 500 companies for more than 15 years. Specific examples include the FBI, Aramark, XPEDX, Marriott, CHART, Qdoba, USAA, the American Business Women’s Association, LIMRA, LOMA and numerous colleges and universities.
With over twenty years of leadership experience and a diverse background in the U.S. and abroad, Dr. Kelly provides a wealth of offerings in her portfolio. She has extensive experience in Leadership, Economics, Business Growth and Efficiency. Mary has a track record for success as an organizational change agent.
In the Navy, Commander Kelly was in intelligence and logistics. One of her favorite jobs was as a chief of police. As a human resources director, Dr. Kelly, developed a business model for the computer and telecommunications organization for personnel hiring, training and retention that was adopted globally by the U. S. Navy. Managing culturally diverse teams, she orchestrated organizational changes for over 3,000 personnel for 2 military base closures. Her ability to problem solve and provide innovative solutions enabled her to transform the Navy’s largest pay and personnel organization from the lowest in customer satisfaction to the highest in the nation in 18 months, with 23% fewer employees.
As an educator, Dr. Kelly created a mandatory curriculum for a college student body of 4,500 students. She has been responsible for teaching 31 university courses in the areas of business management, economics, history, geography, political science, human resources and international relations. Kelly has taught remote course work for multiple colleges over the last 15 years, while creating 4 distance learning courses using online lectures, interactive exercises and she was one of the first to use podcasting.

While other programs on communication and leadership exhort leadership quotes and may be easily forgotten, Kelly’s program can be applied as the audience leaves the room with immediate results.
She was a popular speaker for both the U. S. Naval Academy and Hawaii Pacific University’s Speakers’ Bureaus on topics of finance, leadership, communication, and management. As a communicator, she has chaired academic and military panels for economics, political science and historical conferences. She has conducted over 1,400 seminars on financial, business, human resources, management and leadership topics to all levels of private and government corporations.
Kelly is a graduate of the U. S. Naval Academy, earned an M.A. in economics from the University of Oklahoma, an M.A. in history from the University of Hawaii, and a PhD in economics from Greenwich University.
Mary is a member of the National Speakers’ Association, the American Speakers’ Association, the Colorado Speakers’ Association, the North Texas Speakers’ Association, the World Speakers' Association, MENSA and the Colorado Springs Junior League. She is an active volunteer and her two dogs are Therapy Dog Teams, visiting nursing homes, shelters, and hospitals.
