Description:In collaboration with the Carolinas, Georgia, Florida Chapter of the American Society of Hypertension, we are pleased to offer the 17th Annual Conference on Hypertension, Diabetes and Dyslipidemia. This three day intensive conference will be held on June 28-30, 2013 at the historic Mills House Hotel in downtown Charleston, South Carolina and has been endorsed by the American Society of Hypertension.
The Mills House Hotel is a gem among historic Charleston hotels. Blending opulent accommodations, historic ambiance and modern convenience, our luxury Charleston hotel treats you to true southern hospitality, the same hospitality we showed our first guest over 150 years ago. With a recent multi-million dollar restoration, this historic Charleston hotel has recaptured its original splendor. Located in the heart of Charleston, The Mills House is the only hotel included in the city's prestigious Museum Mile, and there's no shortage of lively Charleston attractions nearby. Charleston was recently voted the #1 city in the US by Travel & Leisure and this conference is a great opportunity for you to see why!
Physicians attending the conference may chose to lengthen their stay by attending the 21st Annual Primary Care Conference which will take place July 1-5 at nearby Kiawah Island Resort. Kiawah and its beautiful beaches are just a 40 minutes drive away. Special combination pricing is available as well as one day pricing.

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
Gaps in the level of Hemoglobin A1C, BP, and LDL-Cholesterol reduction continue to occur in high-risk individuals with Type 2 diabetes, Hypertension, and Dyslipidemia, respectively. Recent results from the ACCORD, VADT, and ADVANCE studies suggest the benefits on reducing macrovascular disease events are unclear and, in fact, caution should be exercised when reducing Hemoglobin A1C in those with long standing Type 2 diabetes to a goal of < 6% when compared to a goal between 7 and 7.9%. In addition, controversy continues from recent guidelines on the level of LDL-cholesterol and BP reduction that can be and should be achieved. This conference will address these and other issues confronting the clinician who treats patients with diabetes, hypertension, and dyslipidemia. The participant will learn the most current information on these issues and will be able to transport these clinical principles back to their every day practice to improve patient care.
OBJECTIVES
At the completion of this activity, participants should be better prepared to:
• Discuss goals, medications and controversies surrounding management of patients with Diabetes, Hypertension and Dyslipidemia;
• Describe appropriate treatment plans for these individuals; and
• Apply new learning to improve health outcomes involving patients with Diabetes, Hypertension, and Dyslipidemia.
