Biography:

Major Jeffrey B. Owens (HPD Ret), a licensed Investigation and Security Professional is the founder of Transcend Inc. Jeff is a recognized expert on Workplace Violence and Crisis Prevention and Mangement. He also provides business relevent presentations on Terrorism, and trains organizations in Management and Leadership skills, Sexual Harassment issues, and Creating a Drug-Free Workplace. He is one of the most experienced speakers and trainers in Hawaii.

Jeff is a dynamic and popular speaker who engages his audience with humor and real-life examples while providing practical information that can be put to use immediately.

In 2002, Jeff retired as a Metropolitan Police Major after nearly 30 years with the Honolulu Police Department where he dealt first-hand with the issues he provides assistance on. As a "street cop" Jeff learned the reality of dealing with people and violence. Working his way up in rank to be a Division Commander, Jeff honed his organizational skills and ability to deal effectively with the challenges confronting today’s leaders.

Jeff has training and experience in Terrorism/Counter-Terrorism and Security matters, and is a qualified Homeland Security expert. Jeff served as the Commander in charge of security for the Honolulu Police Department Headquarters.

As a recognized expert on issues of violence Jeff developed workplace violence training for the Honolulu Police Department and gave instruction at the Police Academy. Jeff was frequently asked to provide presentations and assistance to other government agencies and the business community.

Jeff also served on the Hawaii Workplace Violence Working Group Committee formed by the Department of the Attorney General and the Hawaii Community Foundation. This advisory committee helped develop a comprehensive Workplace Violence prevention and response manual for Hawaii employers. Jeff provided input on key prevention and response factors and was asked to conduct the final review of the manual for content accuracy.

In addition to his background in law enforcement, Jeff is a business person whose clients benefit from the practical experience he brings to the training he provides.
