As a Heart Survivor, Mellanie shares the inspiring personal story of her close call with stress-related emergency heart surgery. Her mission is to spread awareness of heart disease, the #1 killer, and how to prevent it.
She coaches individuals in creating healthy lifestyles that revitalize their health. By bringing a message of hope and encouragement she shows audiences how to take control of their lives, decrease their stress, and protect against heart disease and other deadly diseases.

She also works with organizations to create healthy workplaces that transform productivity, including how to leverage technology and culture in doing so.
A renowned Internet visionary, she led the creation over a decade ago of one of the earliest corporate Web sites for J.C. Penney, was executive in charge of Dell's intranet, and most recently, with Cisco Systems' Internet Business Solutions Practice, served as Trusted Advisor to executives of Cisco's largest high tech customers.
She is the author of two best sellers, Intranet Business Strategies and Intranet as Groupware (John Wiley & Sons). She has written for, or been quoted in, numerous business and technology publications, such as Computerworld, Information Week, and PC Week, and had a regular column in the Dallas Business Journal.
She spoke at some of the earliest Internet events, in Montreal, Singapore, Rio de Janeiro, Johannesburg, and New Delhi, including keynoting adjacent to the creator of the World Wide Web.
She has served many organizations, including General Motors/Cadillac, Agilent Technologies, Hewlett-Packard, Sun Microsystems, Texas Instruments, 3Com, Bell Atlantic, BlueCross BlueShield of Iowa, Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce, Deloitte & Touche, The Trane Company, and Times Mirror Company.
Mellanie lives in Austin, Texas. She is a wife and mother, is on the Board of the Leadership Texas Alumni Association, is a member of Women in Technology International and National Speakers Association, and is a volunteer speaker for the American Heart Association.
